Based in Greenville, South Carolina, Primeau Productions produces commercials, documentaries, interviews, training videos, testimonials and shorts (short form video). Our production and editing services, using top quality equipment and the best production support people in the business are focused on just one thing: success.
What does success mean?
For some, “success” means a visually beautiful video and for others, it is a clever or humorous copy. To be honest, a great video shouldn’t be focused on either “beauty” or “funny,” and while it can contain both elements, a successful video doesn’t need either element.
Primeau Productions has identified at least 9 factors that define a video’s success.
1. The successful video has video content that produces a great return on investment (ROI). When all is said and done, if the video doesn’t produce a return for your organization, it misses the mark.
2. The successful video says what it needs to say and then gets out. Videos that are too long or short for the intended use are a waste of time and money.
3. The successful video is an understandable video. A garbled message will result in garbled understanding. Our scriptwriters aim for clarity, not “artistic”
4. The successful video is not mismatched. What the “consumer or customer” needs to see is an image that matches the sound (or solid script). For example, a surgical practice explaining a serious vascular procedure probably shouldn’t be dancing and singing (though similar mismatches have been done!).
5. The successful video must be technically aligned with the platform. While the organization should never worry over this (as the customer), it is up to the video production company to have the technical expertise to make the presentation perfect.
6. The successful video should sound successful. The days of a video sounding like an old home movie are far behind us. It is a surefire way for your organization’s potential customers to believe you are cutting corners.
7. The successful video should not appear like it was shot in a cave or tunnel, unless that is the desired effect. Poor lighting, much like poor sound, is usually a function of either low quality equipment or untrained videographers. Primeau Productions is scrupulous about offering the best equipment used by the best experts. Remember that the best lighting should be the most natural for the specific purpose.
8. The successful video is perfectly edited. We could write a book about what makes for a perfectly edited video. It is, of course, an art as well as a science. It should say exactly what the organization wants it to say but it should not say too much, ramble or fill the space with irrelevant special effects and silly designs.
9. The successful video must be done with an eye for detail. From beginning to end, it is a serious production, even if it is intended to be funny. Primeau Productions takes its mission seriously. There is a professionalism that must occupy every frame of a video and we honor that.
Primeau Productions is always pleased to discuss what “makes success.” In the end, our customers appreciate our commitment to excellence. It is a standard that touches everything we do.
