“In 2023, Americans started 5.5 million businesses, well-above pre-pandemic levels, nearly 2 million of which are likely to hire employees, according to the Economic Innovation Group. The US Southeast, along with the Mountain West, saw the highest growth.” – Christopher Wink, Technology Writer (September 8, 2024)
The Southeastern U.S., where Primeau Productions is based, is experiencing a huge entrepreneurial rise of most any kind of business you can imagine.
Christopher Wink also noted: The US Southeast is seeing significant growth in tech and startup ecosystems, moving beyond its traditional hospitality and agriculture sectors and focusing on innovation-driven development.
In other words, business ventures in South Carolina and Georgia have moved away from hotels and farming and are moving toward technology, healthcare, software, communications and social media platforms.
There is a whole ecosystem of intellectual and innovative development combined with what has traditionally made the Southeast special: our people, our innovation and our refusal to allow “no” to stop invention.
Perhaps the best assessment of the Southeast’s changing business landscape was crystallized by Kwamena Aidoo, co-founder of Corridor Ventures:
“Southern hospitality is played out in the business world. There’s a small but growing number of founders working to solve global problems that we feel locally, whether it’s in clean tech, biotech, or food and beverage.”
If we take but one aspect of technology growth in states like South Carolina and Georgia, we found between 2013 – 2023, software development increased 83% in Atlanta and 139% in Charleston.
According to Venturesouth online magazine March 20, 2025:
“South Carolina: With industries such as information technology, automotive, and aerospace offering promising investment opportunities, South Carolina is a great place for angel investors to land. In fact, in 2023, this state announced $9.22 billion in capital investment.”
In terms of venture taking place in Georgia, “Georgia’s government incentivizes IT and business services companies through cash-back policies and, as we discussed above, strong entrepreneurial ecosystems exist in major cities like Atlanta, promoting innovation and investment.”
Primeau Productions is Part of The Wave
Naturally, South Carolina and Georgia growth must be matched by strong support. As one of the Southeast’s leading video production organizations, Primeau Productions has focused on video technology and innovation rather than flash and big promises. While we are pleased to work with clients outside of the Southeast, much of our work has focused on the needs of growing organizations in South Carolina and Georgia. We believe in this region; we live here; we see its potential and growing strength.
For more than 30-years, our commitment has been to learning, adopting and adapting technology and creative energy to video production needs.
Primeau Productions has dedicated itself to matching video production technology to the latest advances in software, production quality and formatting. Our writers are top-notch, our use of animation and AI is equal to, if not better than, production in major markets in New York and California. Our production costs are lower here and the labor pool of creative and technology talent cannot be beat.
Video production is booming in the Southeast because video matches the growth in Southeast technology, creativity and innovation. Primeau Productions has grown up in the culture of entrepreneurial ecosystems; we are part of the wave and not overwhelmed by it.
