The Huge Jump in South Carolina Video Marketing

Video usage in business marketing for South Carolina and Georgia companies and clearly, for the rest of the country took a huge leap last year.

Going back to 2015 when national video production statistics were first recorded, about 78% of businesses were using video as a marketing tool. By 2023-2024, the usage had steadily increased to 88%. However, in the period 2024-2025, the number jumped to 95%

What accounts for this significant percentage increase?

We already know that South Carolina (and Georgia) are sophisticated as to film production in the region and with good reason:

“’Companies (making film) are spending millions of dollars, and it’s directly benefiting the state’s merchants,’” said Tom Clark, South Carolina Film Commission project manager, who compares the industry to a cargo plane dropping heaps of cash throughout the state.”

To a small degree there is a spillover from the movie industry in terms of sophistication and production that is valuable to us as a video production company, however video is obviously a world apart from film.

Statistics stated for Movie & Video Production in South Carolina, IBIS Market Research Report (April 10, 2025), showed that annual video industry production growth has grown to about $25 million and continues to climb at a healthy rate.

The dollar value of video, to video production companies such as Primeau Productions pales in comparison to the marketing value videos bring to the companies themselves. Statistics show that nearly 91% of all companies in South Carolina and Georgia use video in some form to market their products or services.

Video Marketing

According to the Adobe Software organization (January 2, 2025):

“Video marketing is often executed through social media, websites, webinars, and email campaigns while encompassing an extensive range of video types…video marketing goes beyond standard video ads – it includes all kinds of brand videos, from livestreams to testimonials.

South Carolina companies are now using video marketing techniques where in the past they were using other forms of communications. For example, video replaces traditional brochures and newspaper advertising, video is used for product branding, for safety instruction, for creating testimonials from satisfied customers, for recording – rather than reporting – on industry meetings, conferences and speaking events.

In addition, South Carolina and Georgia companies know that a single video can not only be used in many applications, but it can be edited for other formats with consistent messaging.

It is impossible to put a price tag on the value on the uniformity of an important message. What is the value of a safety officer interviewing for a well-produced safety video? A video of an engineer explaining the benefits of a product or a physician talking on the importance of performing a procedure in the proper manner?

In short, while video may initially appear to be more expensive than a brochure or report, given its multiple uses, it can be much more cost effective across all platforms.

The real savings to any South Carolina company allowing the production of a quality video is often in having “the implied message” of professionalism, expertise, integrity and ethics.
