The Napoleon Hill Legacy

Friday, July 8th, 2011

If I were asked to name one single contributor to my success in life, I would have to say it was reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

I have read that book five times and learn something new every time. Think and Grow Rich is a book about success, not only financial success but life achievement success.  Long time associate of Thomas Edison wrote “this is not a novel.  It is a textbook on individual achievement that came directly from the experiences of hundreds of America’s most successful men. It should be studied, digested and meditated upon”.

Primeau productions, LLC was fortunate to become associated with The Napoleon Hill Foundation. About two years ago, we met Don Green by restoring several 16mm films of Dr. Hill lecturing to audiences in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. This connection has been one of the most exciting business relationships for me because of my affection for Napoleon Hill and his writings.

Today, we are working with The Napoleon Hill Foundation to bring Dr. Hills multimedia productions to the general public.  We are in the process of translating The Master Keys to Success videos to Spanish.  Other Hispanic multimedia products are also in production and will be made available in the near future.

We currently have four Napoleon Hill products on our Primeau Productions store.

Think and Grow Rich Limited Edition Collectors Hard Cover Book

This is a beautiful gold embossed cloth ribbon book mark version of the multimillion selling original book Think and Grow Rich that was originally published in 1938 by the Ralston Society.

Dr. Hill originally wrote The Laws of Success published in 1928 as the outcome to his interviews with over 500 distinguished successful people who share their own stories with Dr. Hill that have been condensed and summarized to Think and Grow Rich.

This limited edition collector’s hard cover book is a great gift for someone special who may have already read the original Think and Grow Rich and those who have never experienced the greatest motivational success book of all time!

Think and Grow Rich abridged (2) CD audio book with Dr. Hill narrated sections

Finally The Napoleon Hill Foundation has produced a (2) CD set of the famous Think and Grow Rich book in an abridged form that includes sections read by Napoleon Hill himself. Like executive summaries, this abridged (2) CD set will guide the listener through all of the famous success principles discovered by Dr. Hill.  Listen and learn the famous success formula passively while driving or exercising.

Your Right to be Rich

Classic Napoleon Hill re-mastered in a great sounding (9) CD set. “Your Right To Be Rich” is inspiring lectures by Napoleon Hill! For the first time ever on 9 CDs, “Your Right To Be Rich” presents the full 12 hour “Think and Grow Rich” lecture digitally restored audio recording in its entirety from the early 1960’s by Napoleon Hill.

Napoleon Hill’s classic Think and Grow Rich has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide. It revolutionized the whole concept of self-help writing and to this day remains the standard against which all other motivational literature is measured. It is said that Napoleon Hill has made more millionaires and inspired more successes than any other person in history.

12 HOURS OF NAPOLEON HILL RECORDED LIVE!

This is your opportunity to hear not just a reading of Napoleon Hill’s written words but rather to hear Napoleon Hill recorded live in seminar. This is Dr. Hill speaking to an audience, personally explaining the principles he wrote about so inspirationally in his two classic bestsellers.

Your Right to Be Rich is a rare opportunity to listen in on Hill as he elaborates on and answers questions about his life-altering philosophy of personal achievement. These are the only recordings of Napoleon Hill speaking in a way that allows you to gain even deeper insights as he interprets and amplifies the seventeen principles that are the keys to:

# achieving financial success
# Overcoming adversity and defeat a springboard to achievement
# generating attention for your ideas
# influencing others in a positive way
# improving personal and business relationships
# defining your true joy in life

Your Right to Be Rich is a working blueprint for a life of prosperity—an inspiring listening experience that will motivate you, teach you strategies, and give you powerful tools to achieve your dreams.
Napoleon Hill got the answers to those questions he asked about success first hand from over 500 of America’s most successful self-made businessmen. Though born into poverty himself, Napoleon Hill became the protégé of steel baron Andrew Carnegie who introduced him to the most famous self-made multi-millionaires who personally revealed to Hill the secrets they had used to pull themselves out of poverty and create their own success. Hill was welcomed into their businesses and homes; he interviewed them for long periods, studied their habits, analyzed their methods, and learned the secrets of their success. For almost thirty years Napoleon Hill collaborated with America’s most creative and successful entrepreneurs, inventors, businessmen, industrialists, and political leaders, learning first-hand why they succeeded while others failed. Hill devoted those years to researching and proving his theories. Then Mr. Hill refined them into thirteen powerful principles that can be used by anyone to create their own success and realize their dreams.

Three Feet from Gold

In Three Feet From Gold, Sharon L. Lechter and Greg S. Reid have written a remarkable business allegory with a powerful message that resonates especially in times of economic downturn: never give up, you could be three feet from gold–the greatest success of your life. This book will not only inspire you to believe in yourself but also provide an invaluable equation for personal success based on advice from the top entrepreneurs, in addition to supplying a practical workbook for finding your own path to achievement.

Keynote Speaker

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

9905947416_86c48852a1_nWhat is a Keynote Speaker?

A keynote speaker is an expert who speaks professionally on their specific area of expertise. It is a huge benefit to audiences if this keynote speaker is informative as well as entertaining. Audiences react better to a keynote speaker that has a great message and conveys that message in an entertaining way.

Imagine yourself as an audience member at your company’s annual convention. You have probably experienced a speaker that nearly put you to sleep. Maybe this was the president of your company or organization? It does not take a lot to be a good keynote speaker. In fact, there are many speaking coaches and speech writers that can help you improve your keynote speech.

Even some of the best professional speakers on the circuit use speech writers and coaches to help them improve their content. As far as expertise, you either have it or you don’t.

We believe that keynote speakers have to also be performers. When you think about the keynote speech, it is a type of performance. Below in this blog post, we have included five speaker demo videos of four of the best keynote speakers on the circuit. They are professional speakers and earn their living full time as a keynote professional speaker.

There are however, industry specific keynote speakers as well. When I think of industry specific expert keynote speakers, I think of Jack Welch, Steve Jobs and Floyd Wickman. I suspect you can think of at least one industry specific keynote professional speaker that you have seen in the last year.

Then there are the celebrity keynote speakers like Bill Cosby, Stedman Graham and Marlo Thomas. This is where you get excellent entertainment with a message. For example, Marlo speaks about how her father inspired her to become an actress as well as carry the message about Saint Jude Children’s Hospital to her audiences. Celebrity keynote speakers are always a great draw to build attendees for your events but not always great keynote speakers.

Beware of the keynote speaker who does not have the proper tools available for you to make a decision if they are right for your audience. Many professional speakers make good supplemental speakers for your event but are not good for the main stage. Meeting planners are good a detecting speakers who are not keynote material so if you are trying to put on a successful event without a meeting planner, you should consider bringing one on your convention team.

Here are five samples of great keynote speakers:

Forget SEO-Think Thought Leadership

Friday, June 24th, 2011

moneyI received a spam email the other day with the subject line “$34 to get you on page one”. How could they spend the time and do the necessary activities to get anyone on page one for $34? Click, delete bye bye.

I probably get at least five emails every day from someone trying to sell me SEO services. I am here to tell you to forget SEO, the term is outdated. Instead think “Thought Leadership” and publish content on all your Internet resources that provides your knowledge and expertise to your public via a pre determined Internet marketing strategy.

Thought Leadership is the perceived value created by disseminating subject matter expertise across the Internet designed to position yourself as an expert in your industry. By posting industry specific information and know how that readers find useful, valuable and beneficial, these communities follow you and consider you a “Thought Leader” in your area of expertise.

Publish teaser content (don’t give everything away) in blog posts and across social networks providing your public assistance with your expertise instead of trying to sell something. People want to buy they don’t want to be sold! (That is not an original quote and I do not remember where I learned it).

Instead of thinking key words and meta tags, think content in the form of professionally produced video, images and descriptive text. Publish not only because people will read and learn from it but also because search engines will index your content and position you in search results based on your useful information and blended content. You don’t know who is on the Internet looking to solve a problem you have the cure for.

Answer this question; what does your company do better than anyone else? Now, get creative and produce video content sharing your expertise and publish that video on the Internet with text descriptions and link back to your website. (Make sure to always include a http:// in your link back.) Use as many networks as possible. We use over 50 content delivery networks to publish content based on each Internet marketing campaign.

Set Google Alerts using your company name, author name and topic so once a week you will be alerted when your content has been used buy second and third party publishers. Every week we receive a series of Google Alerts that notify us of traffic as well as second and third party publishing of our Internet marketing content. We don’t give everything away but rather share some of our expertise to show our Thought Leadership and earn the attention of the search engines (instead of manipulating them using SEO outdated techniques).

We share content on our website, blog (s), podcast and social networks. I have a staff that helps get the word out because this is a lot of work for one person and the phone continues to ring. You can do this too or hire a professional company (like http://www.PrimeauProductions.com) to help you develop your Internet marketing strategy.
While doing so, make sure you have the proper follow up support to effectively service your inquiries.

This week my assistant Rachel is on vacation. We all filled in for her but after receiving 6 new prospects our days were long and patience worn thin. Nothing will kill great Internet marketing more than poor customer service and follow up.

One of our suppliers referred a video production lead to us and I tried 6 times to call and thank them. Each time I got stuck in their phone system and listened to this message over and over “that line is busy, please hold”. I waited on hold because I wanted to show my appreciation. After about a half hour I finally gave up. I wonder how many prospects also gave up and went to their competitor who had the proper telephone support?

To get started with your Internet marketing strategy, make a list of your talent, skill and ability to help you determine your Thought Leadership expertise. Then create video content and text that will help your public and the search engines solve problems using your Thought Leadership expertise.

How To Create Video Like the Pros

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Video ProductionWe have arrived at “The Video Revolution Online”. There is more video on the Internet today than ever before. Much of the video is homemade and works for its intended purpose. If you are a business that is using video to help convince a prospect to contact you (which is a very important focus for your Internet and
social media marketing efforts) then you must consider these 5 components of a successful video.

By successful we mean your video has to accomplish a purpose that it was intended for. If your video is intended to sell (sales video), then it better walk your Internet shopper through a sales process driven by benefits. If your video is intended to demonstrate (demo video) than it better demonstrate your talent, skill and ability. If your video is intended to market (marketing video), than your video better show marketing process that engages your prospect.

There are 5 qualifications of a great video; Creativity, video production quality, audio quality, graphics quality and sustainability.

Creativity is the backbone of your video. It’s the spark that brings your idea to life. Some people feel they can create their video on their own and save money. That works some of the time. Most successful videos that sell have a creative team behind the video production; a creative director, project manager, graphics designer, video editor, audio post producer, and producer. The creative director is the person who pulls all creativity together and organizes the design, look and feel of your video.

Video production quality is the look and feel of your video footage. “You can’t make a purse out of a sow’s ear” is true especially when producing a video you want to make a great first impression. However if you know what you are working with going into a project, there are skills that can be applied and planned for in advance to improve the quality of a poor video like color correction and other adjustments. Video restoration is an art that Primeau Productions founder Ed Primeau as perfected. Several of our clients send us DVD’s as a master video source which is not optimal. We extract the DVD video footage and import into one of two video editing systems; Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro.

The audio is then exported from the video editing program and imported into an audio program like Pro Tools or Sound Forge to optimize the volume, reduce background extraneous noise, and add equalization. The outcome is an improved video source for your production.

When we are provided existing video, we always begin the production process looking at all video footage provided. Rating is based on video and audio quality, composition, number of cameras, level of energy and performance. If we are hired to record the video footage, all these items are covered well in advance.

Audio quality is an often overlooked characteristic of video production. There are some basic fundamental requirements to great audio for video. First, volume should be in the -15 to -6 range on digital video; peaking no more than -3. In the old analogue days, over saturation was more forgiving than on digital video. Over saturation or audio that is too loud will become distorted when recorded to digital video. Keep in mind that if you are recording audio to video through an audio mixer, these same volume characteristics still apply. Maintain the same volume levels on the audio mixer as you do on the video camera (video recorder).

Background audio noise is another characteristic that can ruin audio quality on video. If a mixing board is too noisy because of unnecessary inputs that are on and not being used or electric buzzes and hums are present, background noise will be present creating more work in the edit suite. Primeau productions and other professional production houses have a part of the video editing and production process called audio post that minimizes background noise, optimizes volume and sound quality and evens out all audio from the many video sources.

Graphics quality has become a very important ingredient in video. If you look at some of the graphics and motion graphics you see in television programs and other Internet videos, you will notice a level of quality that must be acknowledged. People may not dissect your video and point out that your graphics are poor but subconsciously poor graphics contribute to lack of interest in your message. When professional graphics are added to a video production, it lifts the overall quality of the production.

Sustainability is a video that lasts and will stand up to time. If you are going to create a professional video that brings in prospects and generates leads, then you want it to last a long time so you get a good ROI (return on investment). Great video production companies know how to create videos that are not only effective but have sustainability; they hold up over time.

The Professional Speaker Tool Kit

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

5713849099_067bb1cdaa_nIn the old days, having a great assistant and professionally produced speaker demo video was all you need to make it as a keynote professional speaker. Not so any longer. The speaking industry is much more competitive today and professional speakers often sacrifice their principles just to get a gig which tarnishes the image of the industry as a whole.

Running a professional speaking business today requires several tools in order to “make it” on the speaking circuit. Successful keynote professional speakers keep this tool kit available to them at all times. The tool kit is not easy when the aspiring speaker begins their journey but with the right attitude and perseverance the professional speaker tool kit will come together.

The first tool in the kit is a powerful message. Professional speaker and client of Primeau Productions Connie Podesta always had a powerful message and constantly use that message in her branding and Internet marketing. Today her message is “Stand out from the Crowd” which is also the title of her latest book is a Gold Medal winner in the 2011 Independent Publisher Book Awards!

The second tool in the tool kit to help you make it as a keynote professional speaker is charisma which means compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others; a divinely conferred power or talent! Some professional speakers make it in the business without charisma because their message is powerful. The professional speakers that make it into the top 20 best speakers on the circuit have charisma.

The third tool in the professional speaker tool kit is an excellent marketing campaign. This campaign consists of several ingredients:
• A professional produced speaker demo video
• Professional looking and easy to navigate website
• Word of mouth referrals
• Social media strategy using all social media accounts
• A content rich blog
• A fair speaking fee and travel expenses
• Good relationship with speaker bureaus

The fourth tool in the kit is appearance. In order to command the type of fee a great keynote professional speaker earns, you have to look great on the platform. If you do not have the ability to choose clothing that compliments your appearance then find someone than can help. The rest of your appearance almost goes without saying. Your smile, demeanor, hair, nails and casual conversation off the platform all contribute to your appearance. Your appearance is your perceived value. This appearance must also come across in your professional speaker demo video.

The fifth tool is a pleasant personality. I have worked with some professional speakers that have a speech that is so much different than their casual conversation it’s scary! All of the great professional speakers can carry on a great dinner conversation. They have the ability to carry on a engaging conversation with a pleasant personality before and after their presentation. This personality always shows even in difficult situations.

One of the great professional speakers of all time Floyd Wickman has an amazing ability to use words to his advantage in any situation. Not only is Floyd amazing on the platform, he is also fun and captivating to talk to before and after the presentation.

I would like to hear your comments on what you believe are tools that professional speakers should use in their professional speaker tool kit. You can post a comment below, email us at Primeau@PrimeauProductions.com or call 800-647-4281. This business of speaking professionally has been through a major reinvention and there are many tools available for you to make it to the top!

Internet Marketing with Video

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

3463166029_1c065a76dc_nInternet marketing is a simple concept when you come to realize that most people looking for your goods and services will search the Internet first before anything else. Creating expert driven content and professional video on your website in “teaser” form with links back to your website will help increase your search engine rankings and drive more traffic to your website.

Briefly, Professional Video consists of high quality digital recorded footage including audio using direct microphone sound sources (not just the built in camera microphone). In other words, the announcer, presenter or performer is wearing a headset or lavaliere microphone and the audience (if applicable) is also being picked up with audience microphones. Audio is an important ingredient in a professionally produced video.

SEO and Internet Marketing
I remember when we began our first SEO campaign. Search Engine Optimization was an easy concept for me to understand. Our website is a key marketing tool and strategy for our business growth both locally and internationally.
Start out by selecting a group of words that describe your business. These descriptive words are known as “key words” are eventually embedded and designed into the homepage, blog and other Internet published articles content and tags.
These words correspond with wording or search criteria your customers choose when searching the Internet for a problem or need your business has the solution for. The goal with SEO is to have your website-virtual storefront-get noticed by the search engines. This is an Organic approach to building your business leads and selling your product.

Content and SEO
It is also important to create text, audio and video content that positions you as a thought leader in your industry. Expert content on your homepage, blog, social networks and article based websites like Go Articles including links back to your website will help position you as a thought leader and boost your SEO.
If you are having trouble thinking of what to write about and have published a book, you have plenty of content in those pages that can easily become articles or blog postings.
Content is also born from your perspective of an event or trend taking place in the word today especially if it pertains to your area of expertise.

Video and SEO
Today, the “Video Revolution” has added another element to search engine optimization by its powerful multi media information providing potential. Nothing communicates information and value better than a professionally produced video. High speed connectivity has allowed businesses to communicate their content and expertise using professionally produced video on the Internet. This video can be used on your website as well as Social Media Networks. Remember Youtube is the second largest search engine in the world!

If you are a victim of inbound “unsolicited” marketing in the form of email, newsletters or E-zine “spam” then you will understand the following opinion regarding unsolicited message delivery systems or outbound marketing.
I wish I had a nickel for every database my email address ended up in because I exchanged emails with somebody who happened to be an author of an E-zine. This form of outbound marketing worked for a short time on line and some people (far behind with regards to technology and the concept of Internet marketing) are just discovering outbound marketing. Using E-zine’s and e newsletters designed with programs like Constant Contact www.constantcontact.com are almost a thing of the past when it comes to attracting new customers.

Outbound marketing is good for keeping in touch with past customers to help bring them up to speed with new developments in your area of expertise when done occasionally. Don’t send bubble gum or unsolicited outbound marketing, it will make you look like bad.

Internet Marketing” is where I would like to direct your marketing activity and attention to for the new business world.

Internet Marketing Campaigns with video have four parts:
First, a professionally produced marketing video 3 to 8 minutes in length that explains beyond a doubt what your expertise is using examples, explanation and examination of a problem in which you have a solution. It better have high production value and move along quickly using music, motion graphics and professional transitions. Page turns and poor sound quality will make you look like an armature. Video is the foundation of a great Inbound Marketing Campaign.

Second, content is king because it further proves your expertise. Content is extremely important and the first floor on your Internet marketing campaign. It is the expansion of your videos message in written or text form that attracts potential customers, visitors and interested networking candidates to your website which is really your business. Articles and Blog’s are great content delivery tools.

Third, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) makes it easier for potential customers to find you and your business. It is the second floor of your Inbound Marketing campaign. SEO is also embedding key words, Meta tags and content on your website and inbound and outbound (reciprocal) links to your site to leverage your best results in all searches. In other words, SEO helps your customers to find you instead of you looking for customers. There are people looking for your type of service and Internet marketing with focus on SEO helps them find you, its that simple.

Lastly, social media networks help prospects locate you. It’s another way for you to get your message out in cyberspace so prospects can find you. This Blog is a SEO amplifier because it is another net to catch prospects on the Internet and it contains content and is connected to our company name. When your expertise is shared and discussed in social media networks and relationships are developed through legitimate introductions, your intentions become more genuine and you are more likely to draw qualified customers to your website.

Internet marketing using video is extremely cost effective

With Internet marketing, cost is in the time you spend on research, strategy, and execution. Most of the social network websites are free. The investment is in the video and any editing or writing assistance. Keep in mind that you have to periodically update and improve your key words and articles as well as monitoring of industry positioning with your expertise. Just like what I am doing with this blog and other articles.

Remember, your website is your storefront just like a brick and mortar building accept visible on the internet worldwide and is always open for business. So your return on investment for business leads generated through a good Internet marketing campaign is high.

A blog costs nothing to start and there are free accounts available on Blogspot (Google service) and WordPress. In fact, if your website has a built in blog, opening additional account on these services will also increase your Internet visibility.

Primeau Productions has a Blogger blog at http://PrimeauProductions.Blogspot.com.
A Twitter account is free, Linkedin, Facebook and Myspace also “nada coin”. All have the power to draw allot of prospects to your website and create networking opportunities. The marketing ROI (return on investment) from internet campaigns is also higher because the monetary investment is lower than traditional marketing campaigns.

When you execute an Internet Marketing campaign, you are contacted by people who are looking for your goods and services right now, not in the near or distant future. In other words, your prospects will come to you!
Internet Marketing is Organic by nature.

If you were to develop a pay-per-click campaign on Google, you can spend money on an ongoing basis and not receive your best results. Take a look at some of your competitor’s website content who have pay-per-click campaigns in place. Chances are their web content is weak which probably why they have engaged a pay-per-click campaign to draw traffic to their website. You can tell who is using a pay-per-click campaign when you search on Google; they are the ones on the right of the page that are under the “sponsor” category.

If you invest your money in expert based content and professional video that ranks in Google’s organic results and consistently work on your Internet marketing campaign you will join the ranks of the other successful businesses that have transitioned into the new business world.

Primeau Productions has website makeover and Internet marketing campaigns available. Call 800-647-4281 for more information. We will help you locate the video content delivery and social media networks that will best serve your business and market sector. There are 30+ video content delivery networks and 20+ social media websites that will help your SEO rankings.

Legacy and Tribute Video Production

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Greenwich-13There is a fairly new term that was coined a few years ago. That term is “sandwich generation”. This is the term used to describe people who have children and elderly parents to care for. These are the people humming along in life, working the way up the ladder of success, raising a family, having grandpa and grandma help out with the kids when all of a sudden, it hits us like a ton of bricks. A parent either needs help taking care of themselves or they become ill. Often times their spouse is still with them but other times not. There are several issues these sandwich generation people need to address. Who will help you, the caregiver in this difficult time?

This is the time to think about creating a video interview of your aging parent for genealogical purposes. If that parent is a great cook, video record a part of your legacy video in the kitchen to preserve fun times and cooking recipes. Pick a good spot either inside or outside your home to record an interview of their history so your future generations can meet your parent.

If a loved one has died, producing a tribute video to help celebrate their life helps relieve the grief at the time of death. Tribute videos as well as legacy videos are professionally produced using pictures, video interviews, professional film transfers and just about anything else you can think of around their life.

These videos don’t have to be complicated, they can be simple interviews full of historical information about your family that can be viewed by future generations. Pictures can be professionally scanned and films can be transferred to create a loving video that will live on for many years.

Here is a sample legacy video that was recorded in 2004 of Ann Primeau:

Professional Speakers Need More Than Demo Videos

Saturday, March 12th, 2011
