Video Taping Pre Production Worksheet

This worksheet is designed to help you have a successful video taping experience. Read and answer all questions as this will serve as our discussion outline. Listen to “How to Prepare for a Video Taping” by clicking the links below. It’s a 4 part MP3 pod cast that will help you understand the video taping process and encourage you to embrace the process.
Preparation (mp3)
Audio for Video (mp3)
Lighting (mp3)
Conclusion (mp3)

One of the biggest reasons video tapings do not turn out desirable is because speakers worry or get nervous. These emotions come across in your vocal delivery (verbal communication) and on your body expressions (non verbal communication). You must psych yourself into having a good experience and the camera will capture that experience.

Your audience will also loose out on their experience if you worry or get nervous. In addition, they will not react in your best interest for the camera. When you have a great experience, they have a great experience. Embrace the taping process and you will get great footage every time!

Before we have our pre production conversation, write down any and all of your questions you have about the process, logistics or financial aspects of this taping. Let’s also discuss what you are going to wear, how it blends with the stage and where we will put the microphone and body pack (if you use a lavaliere).

The purposes of this footage we are about to record include: Preview video clips for your marketing video Video for your website Video for bureaus, You Tube, Google, Yahoo and AOL Product DVD Audio clips or audio CD
